Shad Blair & Michael O'Neal
September 8, 2018
Shad Blair is a Texas singer/songwriter that was born and raised on a cattle ranch southeast of Post, Texas. There, he learned to play guitar and sing from his dad and older brothers. He wore out his parents’ old country vinyl, spending the long Texas summers soaking up the music of Merle Haggard, Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, Bobby Helms, and Hank Williams. At age 14, his father taught him to play “Fraulein,” and soon after that, Shad began playing gigs. He later started working in the oilfield to put himself through college. Over the years, Shad has created a sound shaped by life experiences and his greatest influences including Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, and Steve Earle, to name a few.
Michael O’Neal is a singer/songwriter from Paris, Texas. His folk/rock sound has transpired from his greatest influences: Guy Clark, Steve Earle, and John Price. Michael is currently working on his fifth studio album to be released later this year. With his sharp wit and heart the size of the Red River, he is rising in the music industry. Michael is the real deal and is passionate about making great art. You can hear it in his songs, and you can see it in the way he raises his kids.
Shad Blair and Michael O’Neal are coming together on September 8 to put on a fun night of Supper Club at the Royal Theater.
